A School Building Rises: This photograph shows about one-fourth of the steel framework erected on the Newport Rd. site of a $811,865 school which will house 540 elementary children in 18 classrooms when it is completed before Sept. 1, 1957. A spokesman for McComber Detroit Sales, which is erecting the steel, said the remaining framework is expected to be in place in five more working days. Footings for the school, which is near Sunset Rd. underground work and the steel are in place about six months after Architect Charles W. Lane of Ann Arbor was awarded a contract to draw plans for this school and a similar one west of the present end of Coronado Dr. in the southwest sector of the school district.
