It was supposed to be a night of fun and festivity. Friends and family were gathered all around with intentions of spreading joy and cheer. No one could’ve expected what was about to happen. Gathered inside, everyone stood around the fireplace, listening to its crackle as it gave off an immense but comfortable heat. Amidst it all Jeff, the eldest, had gotten a little too warm and decided to step outside. He took one step out of the door sniffing in the freezing cold, as he listened to the howling wind the cold seemed so riggerous to an almost unsettling degree. Above him an icicle was starting to melt and although it desperately tried to cling to the roof where it was formed, it couldn’t withstand the heat the house was giving off and fell directly into Jeff’s head, killing him instantly and leaving his cold dead body lying on the ground.
