Edmund B. Hewitt
YPSILANTI - Edmund B. Hewitt, 68, of 313 Forest Ave., son of a pioneer Ypsilanti family, died this morning in Veterans Hospital at Dearborn after a lingering illness.
Mr. Hewitt was born Aug. 1, 1880, in Ypsilanti, a son of Arthur C. and Mary Quinn Hewitt.
He married Stella L. Ferguson, Nov. 16, 1904, in Ypsilanti. Mr. Hewitt was employed by the Detroit Edison Co. for many years, retiring in 1945.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and of Camp No. 69 of the Spanish American War Veterans.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Langius of East Lansing; two sons, Marius E. Hewitt and James A. Hewitt of Ypsilanti; two brothers, Leo A. of Ypsilanti and Frank of Detroit; and two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Hughes of Detroit and Mrs. Mildred Wickenheiser of Carlton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 Saturday at St. John's Church, with burial in Highland Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Friday evening at the Moore Funeral Home.
