You were walking through the park when suddenly

-Snap-

Dark
You feel this pain
This immense pain
Weight
Burden
Decades,
Centuries
Of ancestral pain,
Fear,
Discrimination,
Death

Nothing has happened to you personally
You’re just average you
No problems with anyone
But still,
You feel hurt

What was first a blunt pain all over
Centralizes
A sharp pain your chest
Your mind fills with vague memories that aren’t your own
Distant
But familiar
The pain crescendos
More intense,
As suddenly as it came

-Snap-

...It leaves

You are in the park
You were always in the park
Mid-walk
Standing
Before,
History seemed too long ago
Irrelevant,

Not anymore

You’re left with two choices
(Because you’re not average you anymore)
You feel the weight, pain in your chest,
But you also feel
Enlightened
Awakened

You’re left two choices:
1. Ignore the feeling. Let it fester. Add to it with all your future mistreatments and failures that aren’t your fault. OR
2.Take this to heart. Use it. Break the chain, so no one else has to feel this because people who found power, felt superiority, felt the need to rob your ancestors, hurt your ancestors, and likely you in your future to come.
