Description

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike is a comedy written by Christopher Durang based on themes from the works of Anton Chekhov about three grown siblings facing the quirks and challenges of middle age. Described by Ben Brantley of the New York Times as “a sunny new play about gloomy people,” it won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play. 

This performance will feature TJ Johnson (Vanya), Ellen Finch (Sonia), Carrie Sayer (Masha), Eddie Rothermel (Spike), Tayler Jones (Nina) and Brittany Batell (Cassandra).

The goal of the Ann Arbor Pub Reading Series is to bring together the theater community of Ann Arbor in an informal, frills-free environment to hear local actors read aloud from outstanding plays. It’s based on the concept of Irish pub-readings, where friends get together to sip a pint and listen to a well-known or influential play. The AADL Pub Reading Series is a partnership with PencilPoint TheatreWorks.
