Description

Local beekeeper Rebecca Schumacher will teach you the basics of bees, from what goes on in the hive to the basics of caring for bees. You'll learn about the beehive, how beekeepers harvest honey, and get a chance to look at some beekeeping equipment. The presentation will wrap up with a honey tasting, so be sure to stop by this sweet event.

This event is just one part of our 2nd Annual Gardening & DIY Fest on Sunday, May 13 from 12:30-5:30 PM. Celebrate Mother's Day with us! In addition to the workshops there will be vendors selling handmade wares, plants, fresh flowers, body care and more!

There will also be representatives from area organizations like Ann Arbor Backyard Beekeepers, Natural Area Preservation, Project Grow, Recycle Ann Arbor & many others!
