Civic Ballet To Give ‘Swan Lake' With Jackson Symphony
The Ann Arbor Civic Ballet has accepted an invitation to give a performance of the one-act version of Tschaikowsky’s "Swan Lake” with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra.
The group will appear with the orchestra on Thursday in the auditorium of Jackson High School. Special music for the performance has been arranged by Emil Raab, conductor of both the Ann Arbor Civic Symphony Orchestra and the Jackson orchestra, and Garrett Gething, president of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra Association.
Appearing with the ballet will be Marjorie Russell as Odette: Louis McKush as Siegfried; and Elia Rosted, Rebecca Obenauf, Elizabeth Snyder and Cynthia Mallen as Petite Cynois. Eleven other dancers will comprise the corps de ballet.
A similar performance was presented here in December by Raab and Sylvia Hamer, dance director of the ballet.
Tickets for the program Thursday may be purchased at the time -of performance, 8 p.m., at the auditorium box office.
