The New Winter Festival of the University's Professional Theatre (PTP) opened last night with a gala black tie preview of Edward Albee's "Tiny Alice." Hosting the performance for the invited audience and a reception honoring the company of the visiting American Conservatory Theatre were (from left) University Vice President Marvin L. Niehuss, Associate Director of the PTP Mrs. Robert C. Schnitzer, Mrs. Niehuss and Prof. Schnitzer, the program's executivie director. For the occasion, Mrs. Schnitzer selected a black gown with a rose-colored satin stole. Topping the black floor-length gown worn by Mrs. Niehuss was a white sequinned jacket. The evening's performance marked the first time in U.S. theatrical history that a troupe of Broadway players, sponsored by a major university, played a guest engagement at another regional theatre center under university sponsorship. The guest company is sponsored by Carnegie Tech.
