Description
Planet watching from inside the city of Ann Arbor is possible! And the telescopes available for borrowing from the Ann Arbor District Library do the job. On July 31st, Mars will be closer to Earth than it has been since 2003, and the Red Planet's next-closet approach won't occur until 2035. Join us to get a good look at Mar's polar cap (around 10 pm will be the best), and Saturn's rings. Learn about NASA Mars rovers and landers too, from NASA / JPL Solar System Ambassador volunteer Jennifer German!
Please park in the Ice Cube lot and join us in the Pittsfield Branch parking lot where we'll have the telescopes set up.
Rain/cloud date: Saturday, August 4, same place and time.
