Plan Group Approves Annexation
The City Planning Commission at its meeting last night approved a petition to annex 194 acres, zoned 40 of the acres for research, which will enable the firm of Kelsey Hayes to build on the property, and approved site plans for 128 dwelling units.
The commission voted approval on the Bolgos petition to annex 194.05 acres of land on Green Rd., north of Plymouth Rd. After approving the annexation, the commission considered the request of Bert Smokler to zone 40 of the annexed acres as RE. The commission approved a zoning fix of RE after the petitioner contended the firm of Kelsey Hayes would situate on the petitioned area if the area was annexed and zoned RE.
The commission deferred action on granting a zoning fix on the remainder of the annexed land.
The commissioners also voted planned project approval and site plan approval of the Botanical Park development. The park, developed by William and Patrick Pulte, is on 9.42 acres of land between Stadium and S. Industrial. Planned for the area are 31 townhouses and 80 garden apartments.
A revised site plan for .99 of an acre on Huron, east of Revena, which was submitted by the 1414 Corp., also was approved. The site plan consisted of 17 multiple-dwelling units.
In other unfinished business, the commission approved the petition submitted by Sink and others to annex .78 of an acre on Evergreen Dr. and Valley Dr. A zoning fix of R1C was voted approval on .52 of an acre.
Action on the petitions of Seaman and others, and on the Sutton Place area plan was deferred until the commission’s first meeting in November.
Under new business, the city planners approved the site plan of 5.49 acres of land at Jackson Rd. and 1-94 for the eventual location of a Ramada Inn.
A public hearing for throughcare amendments on the Plymouth Road Density Potential Study was scheduled for the first public meeting of the commission in November. Luncheon working sessions by the commissioners to study the R4 Report and the AG Zoning Report also were scheduled.
