In another column will be fuund an nrticle from the National Era, n reference to holding a National Liberty Convention, for the nominaiion of Presidential cnndidates. That article cxpresses our views as well as any thing we could write. We 'hink the holding of such n Convention should be postponed till about a year from tliis timo. By that time the politicnl featuies of the timps can be distlncily seen, and n nomination can be made ín reference to them. As to the place, we thínk a middle point between the East and West, on the most frequent route of water communication, would be found the most eonvenient, and least expensive to those who atlend : say for instanco, Cleveland, Buffulo, or Rochester. By selectinsra place on the main travelled roule, and calling the Convention just after the opening of navigation, great r.umbers of business men and merchants, on their way from the West to New York and Boston, could conveniently nttend. But wherever it be called, we are decidedly for a postponement till some lime next year. All the Liberty papers we have seen, thnt have expressed any opinión, except the Emaneipator, are for holding the Convention in 1818.
