Primate Pioneers
What's a primate, you ask? A mammal with hands. And hand-like feet. And they are often good at climbing trees. I'm a primate. You're a primate. Monkeys and gorillas are primates. And you're going to learn about a few women who pioneered primatology research because Maris Wicks and Jim Ottaviani (who are also primates) teamed up to create the book Primates: The Fearless Science of Jane Goodall, Dian Fossey, and Birute Galdikas. For this badge, we'll be hunting through AADL's catalog for codes.

what does MARS have anything…
what does MARS have anything to do with a paleoanthropologist? that clue leads you nowhere.
you have to read a book by a…
you have to read a book by a famous neuroscientist to find out!
The hint makes more sense…
The hint makes more sense when you search anthropologist instead of paleoanthropologist. I spent a lot of time searching of paleoanthropologist and getting barely any hits in the catalog, eventually I dropped the "paleo" and just tried anthropologist and it was the first hit. Mars is in the title. Hope this helps! happy code hunting! :)
I am stuck on first clue…
I am stuck on first clue. What exactly we suppose to search? the Animal Jane goodall studied or book on her? I search The animal she studied and also books she wrote but couldn't find anything.
If you search for Jane…
If you search for Jane Goodall in the catalog you should very quickly figure out what animal she studied (if you do not already know). Once you know the animal search for that animal in the catalog - and start searching for gamecodes in the book records! Thanks for playing! - erin GM
