Learn about the the history of Modern English with storyteller Jim Glenn! "Modern English" extends from the early Renaissance through the time of Shakespeare and the King James Bible and on through the time of Samuel Johnson and the spread of English around the world. Special attention is given to the beginnings of American English which began to develop even before 1776.
