Edman, Ralph W.

2941 E. Whittier Ct.

Age 85, died Thursday, October 28, 1982 at the Whitmore Lake Convalescent Center after a brief illness. He was born May 18, 1897, in Rockford, Illinois, the son of John W. and Emily C. Young Edman. He had been a resident of Ann Arbor since 1935. Mr. Edman was married to Alice Olson March 4, 1926, she died November 10, 1958. He was married to Ruth E. Weber in 1960; she died June 8, 1981. He was a life member of the Ann Arbor Masonic Lodge No. 544 F&AM, a life member of the Elks Lodge No. 325 and he was a life member of the Svea Soner of Rockford, Illinois. He had been employed as a supervisor at Sundstrand Machine and Tool Co. of Rockford and the American Broach Co. and retired from Sundstrand-American Broach Co. Survivors include: one son, Marshall W. Edman; one daughter, Mrs. William (Marjorie P.) Steeb both of Ann Arbor; one stepson, Roy Weber of Ann Arbor; one step-daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Sally) Kammeraad of Grand Rapids; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard I. Preis officiating. Contributions may be made to the Elks Handicapped Children Fund or the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends at the Muehlig Chapel from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, October 30.
