Robert S. (Tex) Hudson, 59, of 726 Oakland Ave., retired Ann Arbor barber and barbershop owner, died suddenly Saturday of a heart attack at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital.

He was born Aug. 12, 1897, at El Paso, Tex., and came to Ann Arbor in 1922. He was a barber at the Arcade Barber Shop for 22 years before retiring in 1952. He owned the shop and sold it at the time of his retirement.

He was married to Gladys Dean on Sept. 3, 1937, at Toledo. She survives. He was a member of the Ann Arbor Elks and the Veterans of Foreign Wars DAD's.

Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, J. Dean Hudson of Ann Arbor, and a grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Staffan-Hildinger Funeral Home, with the Rev. William B. Hutchinson officiating. Burial will be in Washtenong Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home.
