TOGETHER ON ISLAND: Evidence that at least six Ann Arbor Navy men are stationed on the Admiralty islands is shown in this official U. S. Navy photograph. They are: Sylvester Tracy, gunner's mate, 3/C, (front) son of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Tracy, 814 Pauline Blvd.; (second row, left to right): William D. Marshall, pharmacist's mate, 2/C, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald W. Marshall, 1942 Cambridge Rd.; and Walter S. Metzger, seaman, 1/C, whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Metzger, live at 811 Third St.; (back row, left to right): John H. Shoemaker, mailman, 3/C, whose wife and small daughter live at 607 W. Madison St.; Lt. Kenneth Marantette, graduate of University of Michigan and former teacher for 11 years at Tappan Junior High school; and Ben J. Zahn, gunner's mate, 3/C, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin J. Zahn, 823 W. Washington St. All arrived at the Admiralty base at different times and no two are attached to the same unit.
