Organ Studio To Be Added By Junior School Of Music
Ann Arbor’s first private organ studio will open Monday at the Junior Music School, located at 217 S. Fifth Ave.
The studio, according to Mrs. Geraldine Seeback, director of the music school, will be equipped with a new Baldwin electronic organ. An open house featuring a display of the organ will be held from 3 o’clock to 5 o’clock Sunday afternoon in the school.
Prof. Lode Van Dessel, organist and choir director of St. Thomas Catholic Church, will assist Mrs. Seeback in teaching the organ classes.
A magna cum laude graduate in music of the Lemmens Institute in Belgium and a pupil of the eminent Belgian organist, Flor Peeters, he was recently given an associateship in the American Guild of Organists.
Mrs. Seeback, the former Geraldine Schlemmer and a lifelong resident of Ann Arbor, attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. She also was a pupil of the late Reuben Kempf, Ann Arbor organist and pianist, and a voice student under Mrs. Kempf.
The Junior School of Music also teaches piano, voice, and violin, and according to Mrs. Seeback, has facilities for training students for radio broadcasting and record work.
