A. Santa Fe correspondent of the St Louis Reveille tells the following: "Yesterday, I visiled tlie saw mil) erected on Santa FeeCreek by the Quartermasler's Department, under the superintendence of Lt. Garnier. The structure is, in the first place curious 10 u?, as being enlirely of pine wood, and to the Musicana, os they "never eaw t'ie like before." There was a lnrga crowd of men, women, children, dogs, and babies at ihe mil! to view llio machinery, whicli was entirely new to them, being the only tliingof the kind in New Mexico. Some would ride on the caniage as the snw cut its way thi-ougl: the Ing, others perched on it os the small relurning wheel sent it back, and then any quantity of mixed Spanish was spoken, and cigaritos srnoked in most desirable profusión. IJeretofore, in this provincc, anything in the shape of a board was gonmally cut out of solid timber wilh a small a.xe, or sawed y liand."
