Sanctuary For St. Luke's The new sanctuary of St. Luke's Lutheran Church features altar vessels which are striking white in contrast to the rest of the structure. The church has dedicated the new sanctuary and expanded and remodeled educational facility at 4205 Washtenaw Rd. The vessels were designed by Associate Prof. John Loree of Eastern Michigan University. The banner to the left ("We praise you God") was designed by Prof. John Sturmfels of Concordia Lutheran College and he both designed and executed the tapestry of Christ to the right. Furnishings of the $350,000 facility were designed by Prof. Donald B. Kersten of the U-M. The Rev. Leland M. Teuscher is pastor.
