8-year-old Seneka Harris watches anxiously as health screen assistant Beverly Johnson takes blood from his thumb for sickle cell and hematocrit anemia tests. The Washtenaw County Health Department held a free health screening program Tuesday for Medicaid-eligible young people at the Hikone public housing site in Ann Arbor Included were tests for vision, hearing and blood pressure. It was the first time in nearly five years that the federally-funded program was offered outside of the county health department, where free health clinics are offered twice weekly.
