Join Chef Sylvia of Pilar’s Tamales to learn about her journey as a Salvadoran woman in the United States. Hear her story, from fleeing El Salvador’s horrific civil war to opening her own restaurant. Sylvia is dedicated to building community, bringing people together, and charity work. Her story will emphasize her connection to food and will include a demonstration of her signature staples casamiento (beans and rice) and Agua de Jamaica (hibiscus tea).
