The rapids became more violent as Jane was forced into the river. Jane was paddling the boat but she knew she couldn’t control the boat anymore and had to wait for the river to calm. Jane laid in the boat being pulled front to back and side to side. The boat started to hit rocks forcing Jane to hold on to the boat and keep it floating upright. Jane felt the boat skid against a hard surface and started to feel damp. The boat was starting to go down and Jane had little time to react. She took a big breath and tried swimming in the rapids but she was thrown like a rag doll. Jane had thought she was being swept to shore and felt some relief when she hit her head on a jagged rock.
