It hurts to look at him.

He

Is the sun -

Beautiful and brilliant,

But if you look at him for too long,

You’ll be left senseless.

He likens me to the moon -

Cold and distant,

Beautiful from afar.

But I want to shine like him -

He

Doesn’t

Want that.

It hurts to touch him.

His skin is like fire under my fingertips,

Burning me,

Suffocating me until there is nothing left.

Until everything I

Love

Is up in flames.

He loves to watch me burn.

It hurts to love him.

He only loves in extremes -

Too much or not enough.

There is no in between.

I am either drowning in his care,

Unable to stay afloat,

Or I am stranded without it,

Left longing for the addictive drug of his love.

But I still stay, only feeling alive on the days that he loves

Me.
