Gum

I pop a small square into my mouth.

It bursts into infinite freshness, creating a chasm of openness through my taste buds.

The air smells of the first snow at dawn.

The angelic sky performs its wintry dance.  The sun chases the clouds across the sky.

The sounds of a river sift to my ears, each wave bringing a new bubble.

Right now, I am new.  If only for a moment, the world is alive.
