TO THE FRIESDS OF THE C A USE OF ASTI-SLAVEUÏ IN TUI STATE OF MICHIGAN: The nndersigned, basing been appointed by the Michigan Anti-Slavery Society, at their Annunl Meeting, held in Ann Arbor in February last, as a Committeo to procure an Editor and Printer lor an Anti-Slaveiy paper in this State, to inpply tlie place of the " Signal of Liberty," which, for reasons beyoud the control of the publisher, has been discontinoed, would lieroby anuniinco that they have conipleted an arrangement by which a new Anti-Slavery paper vviH be pnblished at Battle Creek, Michigan, to be called the Michigan Liberty Press. We take pleasare in saying that Erastus Hlsset, of Battle Creek, bas consented to assunie the superiutendence of the Liberty Press, as Editor, and will devote his whole time to the dnties of that station. Also, that Dr. N. M. Thomas, of Schoolcraft, and Dr. S. B. Thayer, of Battle Creek, will act as associate Editor; Chester Gurnet, Esq., and S. J. Hammond, of Centrevüle, II. Hali.ock, of Detroit, Theodore Fostrr, of Scio, and otbsr staunch friends of the cause in various parteo f the State, will be regular contribulors, whose talent. and iiiHuence, we think, will pUue thfl paper on a stuiulin" that will satisfy the brightest anticipations of its patrons - showing the thinking, rational and intelligent commuuity, Ihat the stms of Ine Península State are alive to the great cause of Liberty - evincinjf to the world, by tbeir assidnity, euergy and determined perseverance, their in-, terest in the only true principies of Democracy which can elévate and permauently sustuin the right and pros-, perity of our great and glorious nation. The Liberty Press will bepnbrigbed weekly by the Michigan Anü-Slavery. The C'ommittee having secured the services of experienced men in the Printing Depart ment, wbo are now fully prepared, with materials of tho best quality, for oarrylttg on their business, subscribera nccd be nnder no appreheiision of a failure, or delay of the paper; as we are confident it will be issued with regularity, ueatness and dispalch. It will be in size equal to the late " Signal of Liberty," containing three pacs of raad ing matter, being more than was published %y that paper. The aubscriptioD price will be $1 50, or$2 00 per year, if not paid strictly in advanck; this being cheaper than anv otheT paper in the .Staie that containa :: much reading.
