AIRMAN INSPECTS PLANE: Lt. Louis G. Marlow, one of the permanent Air Force detachment stationed at the new 472nd base, overlooks nothing as he checks this "T-bird" jet preparatory to taking off. The pilot lives with his family at 1292 Shirley St. in nearby Ypsilanti township. Reserve airmen - the "weekend warriors" of the skyways - fly this type of training plane and F-80 fighter-bombers at the Willow Run field.
