Members of a Michigan Humanities Collaboratory research team presents a window into a little-known but fascinating South American community of Afrikaans speakers. Their work combines ethnographic, linguistic, and historical methods to explore the people and ideologies of this community displaced from South Africa to Patagonia more than 110 years ago.
