Description

Learn about how the The Appropriate Technology Collaborative (ATC) has been working to eradicate poverty in Guatemala for over a decade. The ATC works collaboratively with local Engineers, designers and trades people to create new technologies and green jobs that provide opportunity and dignity for the rural poor. ATC founder John Barrie will present the Mayan Power and Light project, which recently won the Energy Globe Award for Sustainability—today's most prestigious environmental prize for climate change solutions. John will show several examples of how a spark of inspiration can motivate ordinary people to lead extraordinary lives, creating jobs and opportunity for the world’s poor.

John Barrie is Founder and the Chief Innovation Officer of the Appropriate Technology Collaborative (ATC), an award winning nonprofit company that designs affordable, sustainable, technologies that provide opportunity for the world’s poorest people.
