Description

Imagine what it would be like if you could capture the essence of a season and bottle it so you could relive it by pouring it into your glass and tasting it. Cold winter days would feel more bearable with the scent of summer linden blossom trilling your palate, reminding you that seasons change, and that each comes to us bearing a different set of gifts—some we can see and some that remain dormant for a time.

Imagine no more. Ann Arbor Distilling Company makes fall, winter, spring, and summer gins inspired by the landscape of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Gin is more than a juniper-dominated spirit in the hands of artisanal producers, which is why small batch gins require thoughtful contemplation as each recipe melds with memories of the distiller and informs the drink.

Explore the flavor story in Ann Arbor Distilling Company’s seasonal gins, and learn how to develop a language for evaluating gin flavor in these unique spirits. The event takes place at Ann Arbor Distilling Company on 220 Felch Street.

An optional tasting flight of four gins is available at a nominal fee for those who wish to have a taste. Must be 21+ to attend.

Taste & Tell is a delectable series of programming led by flavor and fragrance expert Michelle Krell Kydd, who blogs at Glass Petal Smoke and runs the Smell & Tell series of programming at the Ann Arbor District Library (AADL). Taste & Tell events that take place at local eating and drinking establishments are sponsored by AADL. Edutainment never tasted so good.
