Funeral Set For Sorority Unit Founder
Funeral services will be held in the Bethel AME Church at 1 p.m. Monday for Roberta E. Britt, founder of the Ann Arbor Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
Miss Britt, a teacher in the Willow Run School system, died Thursday at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital following a long illness. She had been an Ann Arbor resident for the past 34 years,
Born in Stillwater, Okla., Miss Britt received her bachelor's degree from the U-M.
Miss Britt was a former employee at the Ann Arbor Community Center, and a past board member of the Ann Arbor United Fund.
The wake will be held on Sunday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Muehlig Chapel, where friends may call beginning at noon on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of the Bethel AME Church.
