Alpha Kappa Alpha sets date for fashion show

The annual Alpha Kappa Alpha Breakfast Fashion Show will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at Alvin’s in Briar-wood Mall.

A continental breakfast will be served. This will be followed by formal modeling by professional models as well as Alpha Kappa Alpha members Juanita Bradley, Jan Collins-Eaglin and Zerilda Palmer.

The show will also include tips on the four major trends in fashion today by Margery Stearns, Alvin’s fashion coordinator.

Proceeds from the show help to provide scholarships to local high school graduates. Chapter funds are also used to support the United Negro College Fund and the Ann Arbor Community Center.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc. is a national non-profit service sorority with both graduate and undergraduate chapters on campuses and in cities throughout the country. The sorority founded in 1907, now numbers 75,000 members. The local chapter was established in Ann Arbor in 1948.

Persons interested in attending the fashion show may call Lola Jones, chairperson, at 663-9348, or Cassandra Russell, 485-3173.
