Will Be Annexed to Ypsilanti: This 88-acre area of vacant land has been released by the Ypsilanti Township Board for annexation to the city of Ypsilanti. Owned by dairyman Fred Palma, the property is slated to be formally annexed to Ypsilanti at a special City Council meeting this week or next. Councilmen has been scheduled to take final action tonight, but are awaiting an attorney's opinion. The area, Palma says, will be developed with a 335-home subdivision. It is bounded by W. Michigan Ave. (lower left), the divided Willow Run Expressway (right) and the present Ypsilanti limits, at top adjacent to the property's eastern boundary line. Annexation, which will mark the first major boundary change for Ypsilanti in nearly seven years, had been delayed pending the granting of a 60-foot utility easement across the property to the township.
