2020 is the centennial of the passage of the 19th amendment which gave all women in the United States the right to vote. Michigan was one of the first to ratify that constitutional change. But it had been a long and arduous road full of difficulties. The goal was not just the vote. Equal rights included women’s rights to property, income, and children. For 72 years, American suffragists fought against social prejudices and each other. Join Susan Nenadic for this slideshow presentation on the efforts of the “Women’s Suffrage” movement on both a national and local level.
