Some tlays ago Wra. G. Doty, secrelary I of the Hancock and English club, addressed a letter to Geo. F. Robison, relative to addressiug the club here on the evening of Oct. 2d., which caused the followingreply: Detroit, Scpt. 20, '80. Wm. G. Doty, Esq. Secretary Hancock and English Club, Ann Albor, Mich. Dear Sin: - I am in receipt of your letter of the seventeeiith iust. , askiug me to address your club on political topics on the evening of Oct. 2d. I assure you such an invitatiou doesrne an honor 1 esteem very highly, aud I take great uleasure in acceptiug it. I will try to givü on that occasion some good reasous why young men espeuially should enlist under the bauner of our gallant Hancock. Yours Ttuly, GEO. F. R'OBISON. Mr. Robison is a young mau who for merly resided here, and let the club turn out and giye him a large audience. Persons imending to compete for premiums at the fair whicb commenoes next Tuesday, Sept 28, sbould observe the following rules: All anieles must be 011 the ground, entered and arranged, on the flrst day of the fair, and all live stock by ten o'clock of the second day. Exhibitors will be careful to have their animáis and articles arranged in their appropriate places, and in season, otherwise they will be overlooked by tbc viewing committee. Persons employed by the society shall wear appropriate badges, and be in readiness to receive articles entered for exbibition in their several departments. All articles intended for exhibition must be entered at the business office, at the entrance of the fair grounds, before entering the englosure. Exbibitors of stock should be very careful to enter tüeir animáis in their appropriate Class. Any grade animal entered as thoroughbred.will be excluded frorn competition in the class to which it belongs. Any person entering stock ciaimed to bu thoroughbred, shall prove to the satisfaction of the judgcs their ages and pedigree ou the side of the dam and aire, to be thoroughbred, mode of breeding, and how near thcy approach to full bloods. AH animáis entered for premiums shall be entered in the name of Aie owner or his agent . No article or animal entered for competition can be removed from the grounds until 2 o'clouk of the last day of the fair, without leave of the superintendent, without forfeidng any premium that may have been awarded.
