The democratie representative convention for the third district was held in Chelsea last Saturday. Hon. J. D. Corey, of Manchester, was made temporary chairmau and Geo Benhain, of Bridgewater, secretary. After the usual committees were appointed the conyention took a re cess until 1 p. m. On re-asembling the Hon. Ezra B. Norris, of Manchester, was made permanent chairman, and the temporary secretary was made permanent. The following is the result of the balloting: FIRST INFOBMAL BALLOT. Whole.number of votes cast 42 Jas. S. Gorman 19 Orrin Thatcher 12 J. D. Corey 7 John Feldkamp 4 SECOND INFOBMAL BALLOT. Whoie number of votes cast 42 Jas. S. Gorman 19 Orrin Thatcher 14 J. D. Corey 9 FIBST FOBMAL BALLOT. Whole number of votes cast 42 Jas. S. Gorman 26 Orrin Thatcher 14 J. D. Corey 2 Jas. S. Gorman, of Dexter, was declared unanimously nominated.
