Shirring is useil on all light wool materials. Collars of dresses are made immensey large. Gold thrcad crops out in the new )laek laces. Basques will not go out of fashion this season. New Languedoc lace appoars ia cof:ee shades. Plain skirts and corsages grow more in fashion. Round capes of cloth will be the first Eall wraps. Jet collars go with black silk antlvelvet costumes. Madras plaids take preccdcnce over Scotch tartana. Chameleon fabrics shot in two colora will be worn. Feather ruohinga are revived for dressc3 and cloaks. Red and gray are fashionable colora n combinations. Red lace veils will be worn by a few cccentric ladies. Light wool materials will be de rigueur untifcold weather. The Jersey and Itallaa surcoats take verv slowly in Nrw York. Broiaded fabrics of vel vet, silk and wool will be in high favor. Hoods appear on many sacques, as well as on cloaks and mantlcs. Chameleon fabrics trimmed with plush appear among fall costumes. Plush will be more nsed than fur for lining cloaks and wraps tliis winter. Velvct brocados take precedence o! all dress fabrics for the coming season. Plain skirts, with a sinirle narrow baláyense flounce, will be much worn. Amber atin bonnet3, embroidered wi% amber beatls, are pretty uovelties. Pekin velvet and tiger plush are iound among the nu w trimming maturials. Box-pleated baláyense flminres are more iashionable thun kniíe-plcated ones. All wool Jersey webbing is found amoug late importations of dress materials. Wliite mousseline ilel'Inde is the material most used for bddesiuaids' dresses. Velvet brocade dresses are made perfectly plain, without auy looping or draperies. Champagne wine colorís anewsbade of pinkish crearn that comoines well with ccru. ïhe new shades of md are ïitian, pheasant, garuet, oinn&mon, copper and Caroubier. White satin, white nun's veiling, and lace make a lovely coiubination for bridesmaids' dresses. Ked, heliotrope, and shades of ecru and old gold are the favonio coiors of the plusli linings of cloaks. All sorts of pelerines, Bchns, flionlder capes, round capes, and manuus are worn as street wraps. Silver and gold thread and tinsol ilhiniiiKite many of the new white aud black Spanish blond laces.
