Sand Under Her Feet

She could feel the grainy sand under her feet. She took a deep breath of the salty sea air. She stared into the deep blue sea, a feeling of longing shooting through her body. She took a small step into the ocean. Adrenaline rushed through her. She plunged her head under the water. Colorful fish tickled her toes. 

She was part of the ocean. She didn’t need to breathe air. A dolphin swam up to her, looking into her sea-green eyes. The dolphin chattered, speaking a language she could understand.

The dolphin motioned for her to follow, its dark brown eyes filled with joy. She grinned, feeling the soft sand under her feet. This was where she belonged.
