Obituary

A special meeting of the V igilant fire eompany was held Friday evening and the foilowing preamble and resolutions were unanimously adopted: Whereas, In view of the loss we have suslained by the decease of our friend and eonirade, Gottüeb Weitbrecbt, and the still heavier loss sustained by those who were nearest and dearest to him, therefore, be it üesolved, That it is but just tribute to the memory of the departed to say that in regreting his removal from our nidsl we mourn tor oue who was, in every respect, worthy of respect and esteeni. . Resolved, That we sincerely condole with the famüy of the deceased on the dispensation with which it has pleased Divine Providence tu afflict them, and oommend thera for consolatioii to Him who orders all thinrs. liesolved, That this heartfelt testimonial of our sympathy and sorrow be forwarded to the fainily of our departed comrade, aud to the several newspapers of tbe city.
