It is theduty of the district boartil Ito prescribe a uniform list of text-booksl [to be used in the school, and to adoptl iuch rules and regulaüons as may be necessary for the management of the school. 2. The district board cannet purchase school books for the pupila at the ex pense of the district, except when parents are not able to furnish the same. 3. Xeither a district meeting nor a district board have a right to vote to parchase text-books for other tlian indigent pupils. The district board can-l not therefore legally contract to payl for suck books with money airead J raised or to be raised by taxation foi such purpose. Any note Ol order given in payment for suc!i books cannot be collected f rom the district.
