Grand liapids Democrat gives additional facts ia relation to the drive-well suits now pending in the U. 8. District court beiore Judge Withey. Tbe claimant sets up that the device, if devica it may be called, is the work of his genius and dates back to the year 1861, but admita that his patent was granted about the year 1868; that in the interim bewas insane, but like Itip Van Winkle, he don't want that time to count against him, and therefore looks to the court to hold his patent good from the time it was floating around in his brain in a nebulous form. The defendants have made answer to the demaDds of the claimant, and the facts were so convincing that the drive-well system was used in Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan at a period which antedates even the time the complainant holds he first convinced the idea, that the latter asks further time to strengthen the case. George Stewart oí Grand Haven is counsel for the defense, and the Democrat says that he will De able to place the issue in such a c'ear light before Judge Withey tbat the gentleman from New York, who claims the royalty, will feel that he haa a cali to return home.
