The third regular meeting of the Michigan hotel-keepers was held at the Brunswick ia Detroit Feb. lst. The following gentlemen of the Association responded to the roll cali : A. V. H. Hudson, Cook House, Ann Arbor; N. H. Williams, Fianey Hotel, Detroit; E. Ferguson, Cass House, Detroit ; J. D. Lyon, Michigan Exchange, Detroit ; L. A. McCreary, Russell House, Detroit; N". C. L. Andru3, Hotel McKiuney, Cadillac; O. A. Whitney, Lawrence House, Adrián. A. V. Pantlind was called to the chair, and E. R. Egnew appointed secretary. The question of a law for the protection of hotel keepers was brought up, and af ter relating many grievances that have been experienced for the want of such a state law, resolutions were adopted pstitioning the Governor of Michigan to bring the matter bef ore the Legislature at the special session to be called this montb. Mr. Hudson, of Lansing, was appointed to confer witli the governor on the subject. J. O. Clark, Farnham Lyon and L. A. McCieary were selected as a Legíslative Committee, to seek legal advice and to lobby at Lansing, should a bilí, such as desirei!, be presented. ït was rnoved toamend the Cjnstitution so that meetings shall hereaftev be held on the second Wednesday in December and first Wednesday of June each year. This, bowevor, was tabled un til the next meeting, wliich it was decided will be held in Detroit at the Russell House on the ürst Wednesday of June next.
