For the week ending Feb. 11, 1882, the reports indícate that scarlet fever and tonsilitis considerably increased, and that rheumatism, bronchitis j mittent fever, diarrhea, and neuralgia I considerably decreased in area of prevalence. Diphtheria was reported by 23 observers at 22 places, scarlet fever by 14 observers at 13 places, and measles at 5 places. Twenty cases of diphtheria and five deaths were reported in Heath township, Allegan Co., Feb. 14. Diphtheria and scarlet fever were reported prevalent in Royal Oak, Oakland Co., Feb. 14. In addition to the report by one regalar observer, as ehown above, special reports have been received showing small-pox present during the week ending Feb, 11, and sinee, at ten other places in Michigan, making eleven in all, as folk)ws: at Kalamazoo, Detroit, and Marshall, Feb. 4; in Port Huron township, Feb. 5; in White Cloud, Newaygo Co., Feb. 6; in Kimball township, St. Clair Co. Feb. 7; at Saginaw City (1 case), Feb. 7, at St. Josepb, on vessel (1 case), Feb. 11; at Spalding, Menominee Co. (8 cases, white), Feb. 13; among the Indians at Indian Town, near Spalding, (16 deaths and 6 cases up to), Feb. 13; at Grand Eapids Feb. 14; at Parkville, St. Joseph Co.
