It is related of an absenl-minded younj lady tliat, having been duly ruarned, sbe staited off on her bridal tour. The party stopped at a western city. So fiir, good. Some time in the night there carne a suceessiou of ternfied shrieks from the room occupied by the bride and groom, and the clerks, portéis and employés generally rushed up stairs, only to meet a frantic female figure, ciad in white, fleeing in desperate haste from her apartment cryiog: "O, there's a man in my room!" The clerk rushed in and fouud the groom half disrobed, standing in the iniddle of the floor, one boot on and the other in his hand, the picture of amazement. He explained that he liad just come up stairs, and was in the act of undressing (his wife had previously retired) when she suddenly awoke with shrieli and fled. "What was the matter?" asked the clerk. "Damflno," said the husband. Just then the bride, enveloped in abuge bed-spread, procured for her by a chamber-maid, came back. looking very red and foolish, and in half a minute she explained the mystery by saying: "Oh, Fred, I forgot I was married and when I awoke I was so frightened. - Inter-Ocean. Dr. W. C. Jones of Blissfield, is in the city. The law and order meeting virtuall} endorsed the republican ticket. The annual meeting of the W. C. T. U. was held Tuesday afternoou and the following offleers elected: President, Mrs. Bishop; vice presidents, Mrs. Crozier, Mrs. P. Steele, Mrs. F. Parker; recording secreta-y, Mrs. Powell; corresponding secretary, Miss Matilda Brcwn; treasurer, Mrs. Dygat. An address was delivered by Mrs. 3. T. Sunderland, and supper was served at six o'clock.
