The spring o'lection was a hol one, bu liy lianl work the democrats were entirely successful for the first time in years. BOtne three or four " sore hcad " democrats tried their utmost to defeat a portiun of the ticket but failed as they did last spring. High, 5; fill vacancy, Hcnry J. Reno, 14; eomniissioner of highways, Albert II. Perry, 19; drain cominissioner, Challes Kendall, 33; school inspector, two years, Frank D. Merithew, 16; school inspector, one year, Emmet Robison, 16; constables, Henry J. Landwehr, 16; John B. Gieske, 12; Carmi Cook, 130; John Peldkamp, 14. Two brothers, Raymond were caudidates for the office of supervisor on the republieaa ticket, one in Sharon, the othcr in örass Lake, and were oach defeated by two rnujority. YFSILANTI. The clection was the mostoexcitiug held for years, each candidate takiug especial pains to work for himself. The tickets were badly split, and it took some time to get the count. The following are the lucky ones with majuriücs received: Scoville, Dem., mayor, 48; Yost, Rep., supervisor lirst district, 13U;Shutts, Dem., supervisor second district, 215; Griffen, Rep., justicc fiist district, 127; Shutts, justice, 29; Palmer, Dem., eonstable, 320, first district; Schemeld, Dem., seeond district, no opposition. The republicana elect four out of six aldermen.
