The prices rcalized during the past two years and up to this time for do mestic evaporated fruits, sliould invite the careful investigation of every farmerand orchardist. In 1874 the total amount of American dried fruit exported, was leas than one and a-hulf million pounds. In 1880 the exportations increased to two million pounds per rnonth, notwithstanding the greatly increased consumption at home, owing to the superior quaiity of the product. The old custom of exchanging two pounda of domestic dried fruit for one oí imported has been more tlian reversed. Even our wild raspberries and whortleberries properly evaporated, stand at par with many of the farfetched luxuries of Smyrna and Italy. One pound of evaporated peaches commands in our markets a valué lent to three pounds of raiains, four of Zante currants, and five to eight oí' figs, prunes or dates. Current prices of all kinds of domestic evaporated fruits, rated on aspecie basis, are higher now than ever before.
