At a adjourned eeting of the mem bers of the medical profession Wednesday veiling, callee! to take action, respecting thcdeathof Dr. E. Wells, the following preamble and resolutions ncre reported and unanimously adopted: Whekeas, In theordering f that ProYidence to whicli we must all subuit, our fellow citizen and professional associate, Dr. Ebenezer Wells, who for more than 40 j-ears has pracliced bis profession iu tbia place, has goue to his rest; therefore Hesolvcd, That in thudeatliof Dr. Wells the conimunily bas lost one of the earliest most honorable and useful citizes, the medical profession one of the oldest, most judicious and belored members, and hisfamilya devoted husband, a kind father, an efficiënt protector and a safe guide. Resolved, That in all our relations with Dr. Wells as a neighbor, a fellow practitioner, and a friend, we have found him always just, honorable, considérate and true, the possessor of qualities which commanded our respect, our confidence and our affection. Resolved, That we can best condole with those who have enjoyed, but are now deprived of hisskilltul, kind and faithful professional services, with his family in their irreparable loss, and with the many throughout the community who feel his rernoval as a personal bereaveiaent. Resolved, That we will attend his funeral ia a, body, and we ask the enlire medica', department of the un'versity to join with us in pajing our last respects to one whose long professional career and whose personal character should serv as a model forimitation. Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be suut to the family of our deceastd brothei-, and be furnished the press.
