Growing Old

Al sil- 1 well remember when- I fanoied all folks old at ten. But, when I'd turned my flrst decade, Fifteen appeared moretruly etatd. But wuen the flfteenth round I'd ran, I thought none old tlll twenty-one. Then, oddly, when I'd reached that age, I held that thlrty made follis sage. But when my thirtleth year was told, i said: "At twoscore men growoldl" Yet twoscore carne and found me thrifty, And bo I drew the line at flfty. But when I reached that age, 1 swore None could be old until threescore. And here I am at sixty now, As young as when at slx, I trow! 'Tis trae my hair Ís somewnatlgray. And that I use a cañe to-day; 'Tis true these rogues about my knee Say "Grandpa!" when they speak to me: But, bless yoursoul. I'm young aa when I thought all people old at ten! Terhaps a little wiser grown- ferhapR some old lllusion flown; But wand'rlng still.whlle years have rolled, When ís it that a man grows old?
