We had supposed that.in pievious articles we had given sufficient facts relative to the encioachmentsof this company upou the rights of the citizens, that even the most obtuse might understand, but it is evident that the person who penned tb article in The Daily News Monday is dull of comprehension. Thk Dkmocrat has atated time ani again what every citizen kuows to be true, who is obliged to cross the railroad track in the second and third wards. It is only a few days ago that the attorney for the road asked a Dkmocrat representative what the people were going to do about it, if the streets were blockaded. And it is evident from the manner the railroad authoritiea have been carrying on, that they propose to run thinge just as they please. Forbearance may cease to be a virtue and an oulraged community yet corapelled to take matters in hand. It cannot be denied but that the road has been beneficial to the city. But did not the citizens pay liberalJy for its ion 1 And now, forsooth, becau9e we have this road, are the people who helped build it to be imposed upon, because the road has beneflted them ? Let the corumon council do their duty, let the marshal do his duty, let the railroadcotnrnissioner act authoritalively in the premises, and Ibis soulless Corporation can be brought to lime. It ís a little singnlar that other papers in the city are mum on the outrages perpetrated by the Toledo, Ann Arbor and Grand Trunk railroad on the rights of the citizens. Are the owners, editora or proprietors of these different papers af raid they will have their passes taken away irom them, f they state the facts ia the caso. The people will draw tteir own inferences. Soon the political campaign will open, and already office seekers are coming to the service. This republican wants that office and aaother one would be satisfied with that office, and as there are numeroua candidates for the respective county1 offices, there promises to be some fun whec convention meets.
