Post iind Tribuno. The yield of apples this season will not be a large one, and not what was expected early in the season. It is generally admitted that New York and Canada wil! have a light erop. Michigan will vary f rom a qnarter to a half erop, while Illinois and Missouri vill probably have the largest and best erop of applss gathered tor many years. While tha sast tway have only a light erop, it must not be presumed that there will be no apples to ship frorn those states, as a, short erop in nine cases out of ten is greatly underestimated. However, allowing there will be a short erop, the liberal erop in Illinois aud Missouri will no doubt make up the deüciency in the east. Besides, other western states whieh do not ship apples will have a good erop for their own use, and there may not ba so urgent a demand from interior points aa usual, and the present outlook warrants dealers in making the statement that the public need not fear veiy high prices for apples the coming winter. The foreign erop of apples is reported as almost a failure, and reports from abroad intímate that large importations of American apples will be required. This will tend to enhance the value of apples to some extent and a good trade will no doubt exiat during thefall and winter moaths at reasonable prices.
