Some of our esteemed contemporaries of the Republican persuasión seem to take pains to insinúate that the editor of this journal has had differences with Governor Begole, because that gentleman failed to make a certain appointment which wc reiyuested him to make. Nothing could be further trom the truth. We did, indeed, recommend a certain gentleman to the governor, to be appointed to a certain ofBce, and the governor regretfully deolined to make the appointrneut. His decisión was accepted by us in good faith and without complaint. The statement or insinuation that -we are in the sulks about that ap[lointment is wkolly gratuitous and entirely untrue. We desire not to be misunderstood or misrejiresented on this point.-
